Ah, So the Reading Police Chief is so sorry that he threatens the public that called to display their disapproval at his leadership! Wow, So do you people realize what they think of you now? Unbelievable, they really don’t understand who pays their salaries! People should make it their job to call their representatives and voice their displeasure at his “deaf eared” sentiments.

WOW!!!! Infringe on the Constitutional Rights of others much? I’m not writing because I agree or disagree with the two sides protesting, and quite honestly don’t care either way. What I am here about though is the eye opening display of ignorance by the police department and other public officials in illegally enforcing the rights of a particular view to appease others with a oppositional view.

I thought the police were there to enforce the law, and not act as feelings police. Weren’t they hired to uphold the United States of America Constitution and Amendments, not those we want to enforce because of the way someone’s opinion. As a matter a fact I believe this is viewed in several different Supreme Court cases that show just because exercise your rights to assemble and protest. It ishowing the ignorance of the Law Enforcement Community and Judicial system at large. If you are going to enforce the law actually know what you can enforce.

And why is this a 1st Amendment issue… Hmmm I can count five ways.. Freedom of Religion, Freedom of the Press, Freedom to Redress our government, Freedom of Speech, and of course Freedom to assemble. ALL OF WHICH TOOK PLACE IN A PUBLIC PLACE!!!!

WHAT TYPE OF BS ARE OUR ELECTED GOVERNMENT LEADERS, EMPLOYEES OF GOVERNMENT, LAW ENFORCEMENT, AND JUDICIAL SYSTEM TRYING TO FEED US?? I’VE CHOSEN TO STAND UP FOR OTHERS AND I WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO.

THE FIRST 10 AMENDMENTS ARE CLEARLY EXHIBITED AS “BILL OF RIGHTS” FOR A REASON!!!

The First Amendment Right does protect someone from standing across the street and saying whatever they want AS LONG AS it isn’t threatening. PERIOD. That is why soldiers families had to deal with those idiots, Westboro Baptist Church that showed up at their funerals screaming profanity and hate speech. That’s why the government has to deal with people saying 9/11 was it inside job and all the other theories throughout the years. Because as long as it’s not threatening, The First Amendment protects you. I cannot believe the gross and incompetence this mayor and police have shown.

Hold a put Jesus back in schools rally of some sort in the same area. If any protesters show up & yell, ask the officers to arrest them. If not, then there is a severe case of discrimination here. This needs to be tested. Lets see how much they support the 1st amendment when the roles are switched.

This police chief is also an idiot. The only thing to say is, “we made a mistake, that officer made a huge mistake arresting that man and we take full responsibility.” Do not deflect to people calling. They have the right to call and complain and they should… all of us should until you stop breaking the law and violating citizens constitutional rights.
